AmpVol is a general plugin for WinAmp 2.04+.

When this .DLL (8k) is placed in your WinAmp plugins directory and used, it will create an icon in the system tray (next to the clock). Double-clicking this icon switches WinAmp's volume quickly between two presets -- LOUD and QUIET. I wanted something like this to quickly turn the volume down when I was listening to music and my parents were calling to me up the stairs..

The icons are pants, feel free to draw some new ones :)

You set the LOUD and QUIET volumes from the configuration button in WinAmp.

You can change the key that is used as the hotkey now if you edit plugin.ini manually. The default is 109 (VK_SUBTRACT). I'm working on a better way of doing this. The information it displays in the properties is wrong (forgot to convert to ascii first.)

Now includes a keyboard hotkey to toggle volumes - ctrl+alt+numpad minus. Let me know if you run into a problem with this...

Now (12:50 03/10/99) you can choose how to start winamp - in LOUD or QUIET - by using a line like

StartLoud=1

or

StartLoud=0

in plugin.ini.
